Flora and Fauna
Getting there
   FLORA AND FAUNA

Typical Andean flora is found here, including pumamaqui, polylepis trees, quishaur or arrayan and vegetation consisting of chuquiraguas, achupallas, locopodios and chilcas . The landscape created by the flora and fauna is typically characteristic of the area.

The lower sector constitutes tropical rainforest including mahogany trees, chontaduros , cedars and guayacanes . Some species of flora and fauna are only found here along the Amazonian plain, making the Park a true refuge for various species which exist in extremely small numbers in Ecuador and South America .
