Flora and Fauna
Getting there
   FLORA AND FAUNA

Flora

Research carried out on floral species within the area is scarce. Nevertheless, there are a number of species here native to the area characteristic guarumos , balsa trees, dragon’s blood tree with its reputed medicinal properties, tasty palmitos or palm hearts used in gastronomy and the tagua used in the fabrication of artisan products. All of these species are sued daily by the Park’s surrounding communities.

Fauna

Jaguars, ocelots, otters, white-spectacled bears, multi-coloured toucans, tanagers, serpents and a variety of frog species are just a few examples of the abundance of fauna inhabiting the Park.
