Tena
is divided
into two parts
by the Rio
Tena. The
bridge links
the bus terminal,
few hotels
and agencies
on the south
side with
the north
side and its
main square,
more hotels
and airport.
There's a
none-too-useful
Tourist Office
by the market,
near the airport
towards the
north of town,
which tends
to be open
Monday to
Friday in
the morning
and afternoon.
As usual in
Ecuador, you
get better
information
by chatting
with travel
agents and
fellow travellers.
There are
Andinatel
and post offices
on calle Olmedo.
There are
a few internet
cafes on 9
de Octubre,
although the
connection
leaves much
to be desired.
Useful banks
include Banco
del Pichincha
on Mera [north
side] and
on 15 de Noviembre,
the main avenue
on the south
side; and
Banco del
Austro also
on 15 de Noviembre
near the footbridge.
