A small village 35km south of Alausi along the Panamericana highway, Chunchi is high up in the mountains and has a colourful Sunday market. Activities including taking a hike to the Chanchan river through the magnificent countryside. Most restaurants are set on the main highway and all buses leave from the plaza, mainly going to Riobamba.
